After the second world war, a dedicated team of wine-lovers brought the vineyard around Toul back to life.

On Becoming a V.D.Q.S. wine…

As early as 1951, our wine was entitled to the V.D.Q.S. label (locally produced wine with superior quality). At about the same time, a syndicate for the representation and defence of the wine industry was created. Publicity for the new quality wines was launched and wine-growers received special training. Some of them, like the Lelièvre brothers, did not hesitate to study in the French schools offering this special training.

…and then the A.O.C. Label !

Fifty years of hard work have allowed us to constantly improve our methods of production, wine-making and distribution. The wine-growers of the Côtes de Toul were finally rewarded when the I.N.A.O. (French wine authority) and the Prime Minister signed the decree officially creating the A.O.C. (controlled origin) label for the Côtes de Toul on March 31st, 1998.
