Geology

All the vineyards of the LELIEVRE winery are planted within the limits of Lucey. The ground is rich in minerals and fossils, its hills face south  / south-east, making it the best possible territory for wine of its kind.
Before the French Revolution, the local bishops reserved this land for their personal use. Today places with names such as Saint Mansuy and Vignes de l’Eveque (Bishop’s Vineyard) are reminders of this fact.
